About the Lower Zambezi National Park
Lower Zambezi National Park sits along the Zambezi River, opposite Zimbabwe’s Mana Pools, and is known for its wild, untouched feel.
It’s one of the least developed parks in Zambia, which means fewer roads, fewer crowds, and more uninterrupted wildlife sightings.
This is the kind of place where game drives feel personal, river safaris are quiet and unhurried, and nights are defined by starlight and the sounds of the bush.
Lower Zambezi National Park is famous for the Leopards of Lolebezi, a group of leopards regularly seen and individually identified by their unique markings and behaviours.
These consistent sightings provide guests, guides, and photographers with rare, close-up experiences of one of Africa’s most elusive predators.
The Park also supports healthy populations of elephants, lions, buffalo, African wild dogs, hyenas, hippos, crocodiles, and various antelope species.
A big part of what makes this park so memorable is how you explore it.
Game drives, walking safaris, canoeing, and fishing on the Zambezi River offer different ways to connect with the land and its wildlife – whether you’re tracking the fresh prints of a leopard on foot or casting for tiger fish as the sun sets behind the escarpment.
Many who visit say this is Zambia’s most beautiful national park.
Its combination of riverfront scenery, abundant wildlife, and remote setting make it a standout destination in Zambia’s safari landscape.
